Good morning friends,

I was just looking at some of my cards and wondered:

Does anyone else collect oversized T206s? I think they're really cool and fun to collect, just like collecting backs and variations. Here are a few of my favorites. I'd like to see others if any of you guys have some.

I think I may have a few; they're just no longer oversized.

Bingo. As a kid the bulk of my T206's were all over the place, jumbos weren't uncommon at all. In fact lots of old school collectors used to trim down cards to fit into the sheets. I had a Magie that had this done bottom was too big so the old timer trimmed the bottom...classic card NM bottom VG top. :)

When I came back to the hobby later after buying cars and chasing girls, I started to upgrade my set...I was amazed how many T206's now fit the exact size measurements. I'm sure it was just a coincidence that was the exact time that TPG grading showed up into the hobby.

+1

I know of one XL Addie Joss portrait that underwent top-border surgery with an x-acto knife around 1982 or so (for the same reason John mentioned above).

Needless to say, I did not become a surgeon, as my skills were rather poor :(

Sweet cards everyone!

Kenny, is that a Piedmont 150? I think it's from one specific sheet that I'm keeping track of. Amazing card!

Always been a fan of jumbos. Here's a few raw ones I've collected over the last year.

Very neat! I don't own any but would love to get my hands on a Charlie Rhodes jumbo if anybody has one!
