Well not till tomorrow for me. Hopefully the Cards embarrass the SCRUBS.

The Red Sox have no pitching this year, but I'll still watch!

Wrigley looks strange with the new bleachers covered up as they won't be finished until mid-June.

Opening Night not day but still the best feeling of having baseball back.

Not a fan of ESPN's use of the strike zone frame for every pitch.

Agree, it is distracting.

I hope this is ESPN only. Also not liking the strike zone view.

I do like the 3D view they show.

Play Ball !

Kris Bryant curse now will haunt the Cubs. They should have brought him up for opening game. Bad karma

Pretty sure the Cubs are running their team, not the media or the player agents. They did exactly the right thing with Bryant. And that is from a Cardinal fan.

Nice offense and great game by Price.

Opening day was truly wretched for the Phillies. Not only were they blanked 8-0 by the Red Sox, a pitcher they let go during the offseason got the win in a 10-0 shutout. He pitched seven innings, struck out six, and didn't walk anyone. Why couldn't Kyle Kendrick do this for the Fightin' Phils?

Hi Eric--Once again the fillies are predicted to be the strongest team in the division (they're going to hold everyone else up).

Thanks. Kick a fan while he's down. I hope David Wright gets athlete's foot. ;)

Went to the M's/Angels afternoon tilt yesterday. It was simply awesome to watch IMO two or three of the greatest baseball players of this generation in action. Mike Trout homered and robbed another. Felix Hernandez struck out 10, and was simply dominant. Robinson Cano singled with an RBI, and turned two double plays, including the game ender. What a game!

So, my wife and I go to our Wash. Nationals opening game vs. the Mets. The weather was perfect - nicest day we have had thus far this year. But, I ended up heading home depressed, for the following 2 reasons:

(1) Max "Super" might have had a 1 - 0 shutout (he was toying with a no-hitter into the 6th), courtesy of a Harper homer, except that 2 errors by our SS resulted in all 3 of the Mets' runs being unearned, and we lost 3 - 1.

(2) We arrived at the stadium 2.5 hours before game time to soak it all in, bringing the day's edition of the Wash. Post to occupy us between festivities. And there, smack in the middle of the front page I see a major article entitled "Behind the Curve" with the subtitle "In a quickly changing society, baseball is striking out with youths." While there is nothing tremendously new to me in this article, the way it is written, and especially the stats/graphs, really depressed me! Here's the link to it for anyone who cares to read it: http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/nationals/baseballs-trouble-with-the-youth-curve--and-what-that-means-for-the-game/2015/04/05/2da36dca-d7e8-11e4-8103-fa84725dbf9d_story.html

Oh well, maybe my Nats will win the remaining 161!!
Val
