i havent ripped any new boxes in years, but when i was younger i use to love opening packs/boxes. topps gold was and still is one of my favorite products. although my entire PC is currently made up of high end autos and patches ive decided to go after some sets instead.
figured id start with the topps gold set. going to go after 1998 only for now, baseball and football. since there are a bunch of different sets figure it will take a ton of time, but should be fun hopefully.
there is the base set class 1, base class 2, and base set 3.
then there are the black versions of class 1,2, and 3.
and the red set which are /100 for class 1, /50 for class 2 and /25 for class 3.

the set has 100 cards total, so with all the different class versions and different colored labels there are 900 cards total in baseball and football.
so 1800 cards in total.
figure i might be able to land some of the cheaper versions as large lots or even full sets, after that probably going to be a lot of singles hunting.
got a decent start thoug, had some ebay bucks and used it to land the baseball class 1 base complete set last night.
only 1700 cards to go.

so if you have any 1998 topps gold label football or baseball please LMK, chances are i probably need them.

ill update occasionally as i start getting some things in.
thanks for the read

Up until 1994 I was trying to pick up everything listed for Topps in the SCD Standard Catalog. That included the Gold sets in 1992 ( plus the Gold Traded set and Gold Winner set for that year ), 1993 and 1994. Only did the standard sets and traded sets after that, plus later the Heritage sets

Good luck with your project
