Just bought this today, April 01, 2015. Has anyone ever seen this Jackson with green border before? Is it some kind of error, or is it a later print, like Helmar?

True...it is a fantasy piece. I would love to find this to be a real card (in theory it could be out there, but not likely). Happy April everyone. Enjoy your Easter!

Sweet Hindu Luke, I love that Evers too.. though I think we're in the minority on this one, because it got beaten up pretty bad in a thread a couple years ago. "the crackhead Evers", etc

Good luck on the back run

Just picked this up from member darwinbulldog (thanks Glenn!) on B/S/T. I live in Raleigh and grew up on minor-league ball in the heart of Tobacco Road, so I was very excited to start this set, especially with a Raleigh player.

Sunday will be Opening Day for MLB and will be the 139th Birthday for the pitching hero of the 1st (20th Century) World Series, 'Big Bill' Dinneen.

Since I was born only a few miles from where Bill was and 51 weeks after he died there, I thought it would be appropriate that he be my latest T206 addition.

Early Happy 139th, Bill !

Can't believe I was able to get Chuck K. (Net54: InYourDeface) to part with this pair of beauties. Signed Lobert cards are so exceedingly rare -- I would absolutely kill for a signed T206 -- it is an absolute honor to own this one. My current collection of signed T201s is now up to seven:

1. Wheat
2. Leifield
3. Rucker
4. Doyle/Meyers
5. Leach
6. Lobert
7. Bridwell

Pretty neat item... I've known these boxes existed, but never saw one come up for sale. El Principe de Gales, in addition to the small clam shell cigarette boxes that held cards, also produced cigars. The cigar boxes are the size of a typical wooden cigar box, and essentially look like a giant sized version of the cigarette box.

A couple antique mall finds this last weekend.

First off is an Olsen's Base Ball card game printed by Olsen Games Co. in Portland Oregon. The instructions are copyright 1925, though I don't know when this actual set was printed. Included are 60 cards, 30 of them red backed and 30 blue backed. I can't find much information about the set but each card features a generic baseball player with a different baseball play. I removed the rubber band but it appears the bottom of the box may have been removed at some point, so the cards can slide out easily.
http://i.imgur.com/kPfYhuZm.jpg

The second purchase was a vintage badminton racket manufactured by George Gibson Bussey & Co. I can't find much information on it but it appears to be late 19th century or early 20th century.

Another card to check off my backs list, the Sweet Cap factory 42. Probably be a while before I tackle the Drum, Brown Lenox, Brown OM, etc., but I am making a good dent in the rest of them! Also, a couple kinda tough front back combos.

...R303B , a tad larger than the R303A . I love the action shots from these '39 Goudeys ; they look good in Beckett holders. This one is from that scrapbook I've been slowly disassembling ; it stopped in 1940 and was put away in dark dry storage and not touched for seventy years . I'll post the others as time permits.

Haha yea I was hoping I could wait till more people nodded off but when I saw the timer going under 2 minutes at 9:15, didn't have much of a choice

Was really hoping you had a raw Rhoades already since there's only 1 in the pop reports. Heh I really picked a lousy team to collect T's on

Too bad about the pinhole, this is a tough front/back combo. I believe there are only 4 showing graded in in both PSA/SGC pop reports. I know that doesn't account for those graded prior to putting the back ID on the flip, but that is still a pretty low number.

The Cincinnati players have the best poses in the set. For whatever reason, they seem to be some of the most charismatic images. I really like the vibrant color of that Fromme too. T206 is most fun when it's void of finacncial stress so I hope you can continue to enjoy it in that manner.

Not the biggest pickup in the world but it is a card I've been looking for for a while. In the 1916 Zeenut set they made a mistake on 3 cards where two had the date mistakenly listed as "1915" instead of 1916, but on Frank Larsen's card they just completely forgot the last digit altogether so his card is simply dated "191"...

Our s/w automatically downsizes scans when our s/w is used to host them. If you want them bigger you probably need to host them somewhere else. Or you can always shoot me an email and I will help with anything board related ie...you want a bigger picture, just ask. I can always host them on my website and show them here.....I do it with all of the things I post which need to be read. Those would be almost unreadable if I were to use the board s/w to host them as they would be too small.
