Does anyone use ETSY to buy or sell their sports memorabilia or autographs, and if so any feelings on using them plus or minus. I was thinking of using them to sell instead of ebay since their fees are less.

Everything about their operation is great. That said, you will unfortunately get a lot fewer "looks" on etsy than eBay. I hope that eventually changes, as etsy is very user-friendly. Would love to see them take a chunk of ebay's business, but Sports Memorabilia is not yet one of the more prevalent categories there.

Still may be worth a try... Best of luck!

I opened a store last month and with less than 100 items I get 100 + views per day and have had a few sales. You are right, it's a great business model. It feels like ebay 10 years ago. I am going to keep at it.

Unfortunately, Etsy may not be Etsy much longer.

I saw this past week that they are planning on going public soon. If the same thing happens to them that happened to Ebay (GREED) then I fear people will be talking about "the good ole days" of Etsy very soon.......

The good old days of Etsy being a well kept secret are no longer...I used to get great stuff there really cheap because it was mostly filled with people who made crafty stuff and occasionally sold other items. I once bought a baseball glove there for $20 and sold it for $500....I also bought a Quisp mailaway flying saucer for $13 and sold it for $300. The seller unfortunately wrecked the original shipping box by sending it to me in the same box she got it in when she was a kid.

Now the place is filled with discontented ebayers and it's starting to fill up with the same high priced junk you used to see in every ebay search.

I just went and looked at my profile for the first time in almost two years....looks like feedback is gone, but you can still see every item you've ever purchased which is pretty cool.

I'm a big supporter of ebid.net

$50 gets you a lifetime of zero fees (for the most part)
