Bill passed away at age 78. He was an All - Star, a 20 game winner and he pitched a no - hitter.

Wonderful man, condolences to the Monbouqutte family. Had Bill do a few signings over the years. Bill had us out to dinner after a signing to show his gratitude. With Many health issues Bill was an inspiration to all the lives he touched. Have cards from signings if anyone would like a memento (free of charge) of a fine man. Thank you for so many great memories.

I would certainly love to have a signed card of his. I never got to meet him, but from what you say, I would of loved it! Many thanks in advance!

Very sorry to hear of Monbo's passing. I first learned of Monbouquette from the '61 Post baseball cards. Even though I was a big Yankee fan, as a 7 year old, I was fascinated by his name and became a fan. I was especially pleased when he came to the Yankees in '67. He was a rare bright spot in that dismal season.

RIP Bill Monbouquette.

I`m pretty sure growing up a Sox fan Bill M. had the last Boston no-hitter for many years. Think the streak reached 20+ years until early 80`s when , can`t remember the name but a Japanese starter, threw one his 1`st year over from the N L . Always heard great things about a true gentlemen/ player !

Pretty fair pitcher and a great guy - Monbo... ...that Japanese starter was Hideo Nomo. But, with almost no one in the stands, Dave Morehead also pitched a no-hitter back in '65.

Being a bit younger I probably would never have heard of him if I didn't collect vintage cards.

High # in both '61 and '62. Also had the same pic on both cards...
