Hi, a friend of mine came across this card and I was hoping someone on the list could help us identify it (beyond the name of the player). I mostly collect newer cards (late 50s to mid 60s) so I haven’t been much help to him.

We are trying to determine if it’s worth sending in to be authenticated/graded or if he should just keep it as part of his collection. Is there a market for Old Judge and how much is this card worth. Thanks, Dan

If he has the card, yes it is worth getting graded. 1887 N172 Old Judge card.

Basic PSA graded book values for this issue...but prices vary wildly with subject and condition:
Description..PR 1..Good 2.....VG 3...VG-EX 4....EX 5...EX-MT 6....NM 7.NM-MT 8
Commons....45.......90..........150......215...... ..365.....585..........950.....1800

Would this be approx a VG? If so, somewhere between 100-200?

NEVER use SMR for N172. Only look at past sales:

Also this is in the wrong section as this is the BST
