During the years 1990-1992, I collected the various card makers promo and preview cards.I have not active in that part of our hobby since. I'm interested in learning whether interest in these cards still exists or has it sorta faded away. I'm curious about insights any board members might be able to offer about these somewhat tough cards. Thanks in advance for bringing me up to date. Craig

I collected any and all Topps promo cards through 1994. Through that year I collected any thing listed in the SCD Standard Catalog, 1948 and. 1961 to 1994. After 94 I scaled back to the standard sets, any update and the Heritage sets only, todate

Craig, Good to see you here.

In recent months I've been selling off a lot of my "stuff" from my SCD days.
The preview, XXX sample and other truly limited "promos" have done very well.

With the internet, more single-player and team-specialist collectors have a better feel for what was issued and what is worth chasing.

If you're selling on eBay, you just have to hope that two or more of the single-player specialists see your item while it is live.

Just today I was going thru a box I hadn't looked at in years. Got a lot of sport & nonsport promo cards--singles & unopened packs from late '80's early '90's. A quick look at EBay showed some w/ almost no listings or at least somewhat scarce.

EX:
1994 Sportflics 2000 Rookie & Traded unopened Promo pack--only 1 EBay listing.

1995 Score 10 card unopened Promo pack--most all just singles on EBay.

Might have to test the market w/ some of what I found!

If you're looking for rough values/scarcity, check comc.com ; sign up as a member and do some challenges to earn "history points" in order to earn sales information on those cards. Comc might even be your best avenue to sell these cards, since shipping would eat up most of the profit on eBay (I'm guessing your cards are all $1-5).

Thanks for that info John. I would probably offer them right here on N54 auction or BST
