Going through stuff and trying to get organized I found this generic real photo postcard and just stared at it for a while. When this kind of postcard has great clarity, and lots of stuff going on, it really can be mesmerizing. (to me anyway.:))

Neat old picture. Tried to reconcile it with the modern Google Map view but didn't have any luck. Did find this account of growing up in Yatesboro written by a woman born there in 1927. There are a couple of references to the Valley Hotel and to the ballfield. Not a whole lot to hang your hat on but not uninteresting either. Here is a picture right side of the area pre ball field I think on st Mary's church website. I think it might have something to do with that church which was maybe rebuilt?
