Probably shown before but it's been a while. Thanks to George Vrechek for supplying these for me to use on the forum (quite some time ago).

I got a full set of the 50x S16 silks (counterpart to the T56 Emblem Series cards) and it's mentioned here. Maybe N135 "Talk of the Diamond" was already covered in a previous issue, but I just got the one with the Boston (Red Stockings?) logo in the image. I see that a couple of others have some of the teams on jerseys (Indianapolis) , but most are not connected to a team.

http://www1.coe.neu.edu/~dan/z-ns-N135/go.html is the link to see all the cards from the 1889 Duke/ATC series for those interested.

Are the 516 and 517 the ones currently notated T201 and T202? Interesting to see that they were re-notated; is that due to the splitting of Ns from Ts and therefore leaving the remaining 500s as Ws?

1938 was still the Depression, and yet there were people spending money on insert cards. Many folks who were broke but had a box of old cards lying around were probably thrilled to find someone to buy them. That money could have bought a desperately needed week's worth of groceries.

I like the section about how to mount and display the cards. The author recommended using corner mounts, or making slits on pages, to protect them against damage. As it turned out, that wasn't such a good method either. But nobody imagined that the cards might one day be valuable.

It would be neat if anyone had cards stamped with one of those names mentioned at the beginning of the article as new collectors.

thanks for sharing these. I have archived every one. I find something new, make a connection, or take another direction every time. I have the 1939 acc but never look at it :-(. It once belonged to the man behind the curtain..... If I were more of a student with less to do - I'd follow the changes Burdick made with regard to his philosophy over specifics. As seen above cabinet photos in the Ginter series were initially treated as cards and albums were designated with numbers corresponding to the set they matched. Obviously the narrative from a cartophilic perspective morphed as he had to apply a more strict interpretation of the data and how best to catagorize it. Within that process much can be gleaned from following the ACC's evelolution. Wish I had more time..........
