Hi everybody:

I'm happy to announce that the Love of the Game premier fall sale is now open for bidding.

The auction closes November 1, and is easily our biggest and best sale yet.

Featured items include:

• 1933 Goudey #106 Nap Lajoie (http://loveofthegameauctions.com/Breathtaking-1933-Goudey-106-Nap-Lajoie-(HOF)-SGC-LOT3764.aspx)(Charles Conlon's Lajoie), SGC EX/NM 82
• A killer 1910 E93 Standard Caramel complete set (http://loveofthegameauctions.com/Remarkable-1910-E93-Standard-Caramel-Complete-Set--LOT4116.aspx), #4 on the PSA Registry
• Lionel Carter's beautiful 1910 Tip Top Honus Wagner, (http://loveofthegameauctions.com/Spectacular-1910-Tip-Top-Bread-Honus-Wagner-(HOF)--LOT3849.aspx) graded EX 60 by SGC
• A gorgeous Sport Kings Babe Ruth (http://loveofthegameauctions.com/1933-Goudey-Sport-Kings-2-Babe-Ruth-(HOF)---SGC-N-LOT4110.aspx), graded SGC NM/MT 88
• A complete T206 set (http://loveofthegameauctions.com/1909-11-T206-Complete-Set-(520-524)-with-29-Graded-LOT3848.aspx) (minus the big four), with 29 key cards graded
• A rare 1950-51 Toleteros Josh Gibson (http://loveofthegameauctions.com/Rare-1950-51-Toleteros-Josh-Gibson-(HOF)---SGC-EX--LOT3714.aspx), graded EX 60
• A T206 Sherry Magie (Magie) error, (http://loveofthegameauctions.com/1909-T206-Sherry-Magee-(Magie)-Error---PSA-VG-3-LOT3605.aspx) graded PSA 3
• The items I'm most proud of - two examples from the 1888 H. D. Smith & Co. gum set (formerly known as "Scrapps Tobacco"), each featuring two attached pairs. These are two of the only three examples like this that I've ever seen, and they helped us to learn much more about what these cards are and how they were distributed than was previously known.

Please visit our website (http://loveofthegameauctions.com/catalog.aspx) to view the auction and place your bids.

In addition, all registered bidders will be receiving our first-ever printed catalog. I'm really proud of this, and hope you enjoy it. The catalogs will be in the mail toward the middle of next week.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you all enjoy the auction!

Best of luck,
Al

Never in a million years would I have suspected that the "Scrapps Tobacco" were actually gum cards. That is some tremendous research Al. Maybe they will get a bit more love now. I had always assumed that they were some sort of giveaway or they were purchased somewhat like strip cards would be later. Never imagined that they were actually packaged with gum.
