Richard that was amazing gave me goose bumps when fans rushed the field! Truely an era long forgotten. Love how all the "gentlemen" in the crowd were in suites and top hats. What a classic find! Would love to watch old world series games are there dvd's you can find of them anywhere you know? How the crowds have changed, now days you wont see a single suit in the crowd.

Awesome stuff. The only thing missing is the ball hitting the pebble by third base in the 12th.
Jerseys without numbers, let alone names. Ninety years later the game seems so familiar unlike the style of play in hockey, football and basketball.

That was great, thanks for sharing! I really enjoyed seeing Walter Johnson, one of my more recent pickups in it too.

That was amazing. Man, I know in all the books everyone said Walter had some easy gas. Seeing him take that slow wind up and whip his arm, it's hard to believe he's throwing high 90s heat!

That was amazing. Man, I know in all the books everyone said Walter had some easy gas. Seeing him take that slow wind up and whip his arm, it's hard to believe he's throwing high 90s heat!
What has always amazed me about Walter's speed is that his windup leaves him pushing back against the pitching rubber. I've never seen any other pitcher throw like that - they all propel themselves towards the plate when they throw, with their back foot lifting off the rubber.

You can bet, with absolute certainty that WaJo had a fastball well into the 100+ MPH range. He didn't really have a great # 2 pitch and struck out 3,508 batters. He might have had one of the greatest fastballs of all time, even with that easy motion...

No doubt in my mind. I just meant with how easy he moves you'd think he was just lobbing it in. Truly incredible footage and really interesting to see. Wish I could hear the zip.
