Do people really do that? Just randomly go around the country cleaning out old attics? And somehow the protective case made it more legit. Fake, fake, fake.

One of his closed auctions went something like this:

"I'm sell me grandfather's baseball cards that he gave me some years ago. I'm not an avid card collector. So, I'm putting them up for auction.
Offering them at no reserve and free shipping. I have no idea what they are worth so I will be starting the bid at $20.00
