The Philly Show is two weeks from today... anyone planning to attend? I'm pretty certain (unless something comes up with work) that I will be there on Friday at open.

I should be able to make it on either Saturday or Sunday, and will have on a Net54 Tshirt. I hope to run into a few board members.

Best regards,

Eric

I normally end up there on Saturday. I'll make a trip to the PSA booth to make a drop off and then take a quick look around. I'm planning a pretty large submission of modern cards.

Looks like work interferes, so I will be there all day on Saturday.

Any board members setting up for the show?

For the first time ever, I will be setting up for 3 days at Valley Forge. If you find someone with 4 full showcases of graded T206 cards, it's me. Looking forward to meeting all net 54 members. I hope Ted Z. will be stopping in to visit as well.

We will be set up for the weekend and I will be there on Friday. Looking forward to doing some business in person as opposed to the internet!

I'll be in Booth 308 with scads of cards from the upcoming LOTG catalog auction, and will also be taking consignments.

Stop by, say hi, bring the kids.

I too will be setting up for the first time. Unfortunately, I will not have showcases of T-cards. Looking forward to it!

This will be only my second show in last 5-6 years. Lots of new cards since the national. Please stop by. I will have probably 1-2 cases of t206 psa graded.

This is sounding a bit interesting as a few new dealers are setting up. Always nice to see new material. It looks like I won't get there until Sat morning now.

Able to get off work early so I'll be there Friday now. I'll be wearing an Orioles hat.

Im going...
gonna try and stay focused on picking up the dozen or so cards I need to wrap up some sets....nothing HOFer or too expensive., a few early Bowman, a few Goudey, a few Diamond Stars...and looking for off condition.............my prediction...walk around a couple hrs...see most of the cards I need..at asking prices that are just laughable ...end up buying almost nothing...go out to the lobby... get internet access....buy the dozen cards off ebay..with free shipping...and drive home saying.." why did you bother going "

Thanks guys... And yes, very, very close to Johnny's.

Btw, it was nice to see you Andrew (sorry I didn't recognize you)... As well as Earl (SGC) and Al (LOTG). I also met Johnny for the first time, Toby, and spoke a while with a few of the dealers.

Best show I've had in a while!

I went to the show today and met a few board members. The Net54 T-shirt I wore was a great conversation starter. :)

Special thanks to Glyn Parson for his superior customer service. Couldn't ask for a nicer person to deal with.

Best regards,

Eric

I made the trip on Friday and was there from opening to closing. I'm not working right now so money is very tight and couldn't afford any vintage material. I still had a lot of fun sifting through a couple of dealers' 10 cent and 25 cent boxes, with quantity discounts, my cards came out to roughly 9 cents each. I found a bunch of '80's baseball rookie cards, including Kent Hrbek, Chili Davis, Willie McGee, Kevin McReynolds, Ron Darling, Eric Davis, Ruben Sierra, Edgar Martinez, etc.

Here are the two Rossman... Mine on left, Johnny's on right. Notice mine has a red shift that is different... Show probably different sheets?

Went to the show today. Sold some cards, then went to the casino and won on the roulette table. Didn't want to buy, although I was enticed to help fund a larger purchase. Enjoyed my time though! Some new faces with some familiar ones

Great show so far (though I haven't been able to leave my table). As always, nice to be next to Kevin Keating and Hank Thomas, who are always enjoyable neighbors at the show. Got to meet Mrvster, and see D.J., Andrew and Eric again, which is always great.

While I was chatting with Andrew today, a boy about 14 years old was checking out some of the Cracker Jacks in my case, and we started talking to him. We asked him if he collected, and he said he did, so we naturally asked him what he'd bought at the show (expecting him to pull out some shiny card). Instead, he reached into his bag and pulled out a T206 McGraw! Impressive. What was even cooler was that as he was talking, Andrew reached into his bag, pulled out a T206, and gave it to the kid. The kid's eyes lit up - a free T206! How awesome. That's why I love this hobby.

A little while later, a dad and his son came by the booth. I like to talk to any kid who shows interest, and this little guy, maybe 10 years old, had bought a 1963 Topps Mantle, PSA 4. Really nice card, and he was thrilled. Then his dad pulled out a '48 Leaf DiMaggio, and said he'd treated himself even though he didn't intend to buy anything. He and his son were collecting together.

Great to see some kids buying vintage, and even better to see a dad collecting with his son. Great day.

Hey bcbgcbrcb - it was great chatting with you when you were digging through my dime boxes. Glad those rookies found a good home. It was nice to release those cards from my basement.

Hey, Luke:

I didn't realize that you were a Net 54 member when I met you at the show. Thanks again for the great deals and letting me add some new cards to my collection cost effectively.

Good luck today, the last day of the Philly Show, I hope your sales continue.

Phil

Phil:

Yes, I enjoy this site. My sales at the Philly show fund my quest to conquer the Monster. Not sure when I will do another show. This one was for fun and to meet some new people.

Take care

Luke

for both of you!

It looks like a second color is also shifted differently between these two cards, (see Rossman's left shoulder on the right side of the card).
