Looks like PSA is now breaking out the various tobacco brand backs. For example, Piedmont breaks out the 150, 350, 350/460f25, and 350/460f42. Unfortunately, way behind on all the graded backs already out there. Gotta start somewhere I guess?

It is my extremely unqualified opinion that the damage is already done. I know of many people who have made the claim they have cracked and resubmitted a given card several times until they finally get their desired grade, resulting in the same card showing up on the population reports several times.

It is unfortunate, but very very careful when you rely on the population reports, as they are simply not accurate.

I do agree, however, it is good and very necessary to start somewhere, so I do appreciate their effort in this regard.

Nice cash grab by PSA- get everyone to start resubmitting cards for $10 or $12 a pop. T206 is the gift that never stops giving for PSA.

If a card is sent in for re-holder / $5 is the flip (and population report) updated to show a more specific back designation if applicable with that service?

Yes, I did this a few times when I was collecting T206s.

Yes many things have been cracked and resubmitted making the pops on some cards higher than they should be. This has no bearing on a card that shows up as a low pop card, in fact it displays how obviously difficult such a card is. The pop report like all price guides or previous sales information should be used to guide purchases and pricing but should not be the sole determinant.
