I was considering consigning some of my items to an auction house to thin out the items I have "stored" in the closet. Some of the items should bring a decent price. My question is, is there any reputable auction houses that do not charge a consignor, or has a very low percentage of the sale?

Hopefully, with your past experience, you can help with this endeavor.

Thanks in advance!

Mark

When I sold some of my duplicate stuff last year I used Love Of The Game. It is run by a board member ( pre war) who I know personally and is as honest as the day is long. But you may prefer one of the bigger name operations. A lot of guys just use the 54 BST

Sellers win with Brockelman and Luckey Auctions. We offer a sellers fee of zero % on lots consigned. The result being sellers receive more net dollars due to lower commissions and higher bidding activity

From what i read at cardboard-- that the B&L auction should be Oct11th. Just around the corner.

Scott and I try not to abuse the board with advertisements for consignments but we do have an auction starting later this month. Our sellers fee has never changed and is 0%, our buyers premium is 12.5% and we pay our consignors in almost exactly 2 weeks, on average. We run a nice small auction and have almost never had any issues whatsoever. We keep it simple. :) We sell your items and we pay you. Thanks for the shout out guys!!

In this day and age any quality consignment should have no problem finding a home at 0% commission. I have stuff out with several AHs right now and all are at 0%. One auctioneer tried to wheedle me into 5% and I just said no and moved on.

I strongly endorse LOTG and Leon. Also recommend looking at Baggers. Any of those three should so fine. I have also consigned through Sterling and been quite happy.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the help in consigning to an AH. You all have given me ample information on which direction to take. Sure do appreciate the input.
