Hey guys--my name is Garrett and I am long time collector who has always cherished the vintage realm of the hobby. My father decided to give me his childhood collection a few months ago with most of the bigger names in the 50's and 60's, so now I am building sets. I know it may sound crazy that a 29year old loves vintage....but it's true!

I am looking forward to this site and meeting some great vintage collectors across the hobby!

Thanks!

Welcome from the Louisville area (in S. Indiana, now). Similar to Leon, I'm 51, but I don't feel a day over 50-something.

Welcome aboard, Garrett! Greetings from the Dallas, Texas area.

There's nothing odd at all about a 29 year old loving pre-war and vintage cards. It just means you've developed refined tastes a little bit before most people your age. :p

I think it's cool your dad gave you his collection. Are you going to focus on that same period, or have you thought about exploring cards from previous eras? There are a lot of great pre-war sets that you might really enjoy, too. Have a look around. You never know what you might find.

Have fun!

Welcome aboard. I wish I would have been introduced to the t206 set in my 20s instead of wasting all kinds of energy on 80s and 90s stuff.

so glad to see so many people from the Louisville/Kentucky area. There is a card show here in Louisville on September 13th that will have around 25 dealers, about 5 are vintage guys. I love the site so far!

Welcome to the board Garrett. I am 26 years old although I collect vintage baseball memorabilia and autographs, it's nice to see younger collectors on here. You learn a ton from guys on here. Enjoy!
