Thought I'd post my new pick up. And show it as it transforms from crap to a wonderful seat. Seat from polo grounds with two NY figurals, which are rare. You normally see them with only 1.

I already ordered all new vintage wood to replace the bad ones. And have a piece of metal for the top soon to be welded on.

Brock here is a picture of my triple row seats with the NY also on both ends. I replaced 3 legs 9" short and had them welded. also replaced the wood but never touched the paint on the cast iron I left that original

Beautiful work. Good choice leaving the original paint, it's beautiful.

I'm gonna fully restore them. I would love to leave the paint but think the seats will be better looking orange/gray with black NY like it was in 1957.

Sadly I Have to replace all of the slats with ones from a 1940s minor stadium, so it won't be 100% original.

Update. Got the broken piece back and it's now repaired with the top bracket.

Next set is to get the paint removed and powder coated orange.

Anyone know where to find these type of carriage bolts. It's a 1/4 size bolt but with a large head. I can only find ones with small heads on them. One dealer has them for sale but at $3.00 per bolt.

How many do you need? $3 each is kinda ridiculous.....but isn't this a several thousand dollar seat?

10 of them, so it would be $30. But if he has them, they have to be out there somewhere. But lowes, Home Depot, seats have none close to it.

Forget lowes, home depot, etc.

Try fastenal.com

I'm not sure where you are in MA, but they have five stores in the Boston area. If not fastenal, there should be other stores in your area that sell nothing but nuts, bolts, screws and all other manner of fasteners.

I'm with Rob, pay to get the right bolt. These are going to look awesome and you are giving me insight for restoring the Sulphur Dell stadium seats in my barn!

Brock,
That looks awesome. You did a great job restoring it. I didn't think I would like this color scheme as much as the green, but it really does look nice that way. Did you paint it yourself?

One of those is definitely on my list at some point in time.
Best,
Mark

Greg

Yeah and because 4 is my favorite number(Gehrig). I thought about 24 for Willie but picked 4 cause it was easier to do one number than two even though I don't really like how the 4 came out.
