Even the front of this Goslin doesn't appear NM but check out the back! Still, someone bid $247 on it...

Update: I was considering at least making an offer on this "6" Titus until I look at the reverse and the "OF" sign...really unreal.

Yeah someone paid for the holder, not for the card.

When grading errors are so huge--what are odds someone cracked holder and inserted new card? Or just grasping at straws?

Possible, but this seller also sold a 33 Ruth PSA 6 which appears to be legit.

Unless he duped the buyer of the card by sending something different, this same card is featured on PSA's website.

My guess (based on the above) is that a misgrade is more likely than the insertion of a different card.

Its not chipping, its a rough edge. Its a product of how O-Pee-Chee produced hockey cards through the 1970s and early 1980s where most of the cards had a varying degree of roughness to the edges.

This is one of those hot button issues and debates in the hockey card community, on if the rough edges should be taken negatively into account when grading the cards or not.

For all the PSA bashers, I just purchased 6 cards from 1962 Topps that were all SGC 92 or 96. All were clearly and blatantly trimmed. About a week earlier, I purchased what I thought was a soon to be PSA 10 card after I cracked it out. Before cracking, I noticed a crease along the bottom front from edge to the name "White" that wasn't fully visible in listing pic but can kind of been seen if you are looking and knowing it's there.

EDIT: Sorry for the oversized pic
