Saw that one on ebay when it was first listed. I was thinking whether or not I'd make an offer... when I went back a little while later it was gone. You snatched that thing up with a quickness! Congrats on the pickup.

I'm still looking for my Mothers' Bread... one day.

Pete...unless my info is incorrect I believe the Miller fielding is only in the D303 General Baking set, not the Mother's Bread.

Who knows, maybe your Plank bait will unearth one (or at least get someone to attempt to fabricate one).

Brian... I kind a hope you are right... But I always thought that the consensus was that if it is available with general baking it should be available with mother's bread? Time may reveal the answer???

Leon,

It's difficult to tell from the scan, but your Speaker shows Boston correct? The Standard Catalog lists Speaker as Cleveland Am.

I'm wondering if there is a Speaker w/ Cleveland as well or if the info in the SC is incorrect?

EDIT - Disregard. I just noticed that the Speaker in your scan has a GB back and not MB.

Is this Oakes a General Baking card or a Mothers' Bread?

Not a problem. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't an update to the checklist.

Does anyone have a scan/picture of a Mothers' Bread Bressler? I think that's the only one listed on the checklist that I haven't actually seen.

EDIT: I had some on my list that were just going off of a list that Leon confirmed he owned at one point. So I actually need scans of the following:

- Bressler
- Doyle
- Lajoie
- Meyer
- Speaker

Leon, do you happen to have scans of some of these MB cards you once owned?

Hi Zach,

I don't believe I have yet seen a Mother's Speaker, but when I had the chance I bought the best looking General Baking Speaker I ever saw:

Hi all,

I just wanted to add to this thread a new addition to the D303 Mothers' Bread checklist: Eddie Foster (http://www.psacard.com/cert/26190050/).

Eddie Foster is on the card, but Clyde Engle is pictured. Both Zach (on his website (http://www.louisianacards.com/d303-mothers-bread.html)) and the Standard Catalog note that several player poses in the Mothers' Bread set are images of other players.

I've noticed that in the case where the player is in the Mothers' Bread set but is not in the E106 nor D303 General Baking sets, the Mothers' Bread player images are of other players from the same fielding position in the E106 set.

Both Eddie Foster and Clyde Engle are third base, 3b.

Other players in the Mothers' Bread set but not in the E106/D303-GB sets include:
Felsch (Demmitt pictured, both are position c.f.)
Louden (Knabe pictured, both are position 2b.)
Meyer (Jacklitsch pictured, both are position c.)
Morgan (Doolan pictured, Morgan is 2b. and Doolan is s.s., but Doolan played 2b. and s.s.)
Weaver (Tinker pictured, both are position s.s.)

Here's a SABR article (http://sabr.org/bioproj/person/f08078c9) on Foster, who was, aside from being a good ballplayer, a very nice man.

Cheers,
Steve
