$500 - $600 in nice shape (as that one appears to be). It's a rare one!

That is a nice pennant and I agree with Mark on the value. I would want to a closer look at that top edge and get a measurement to verify. Jason

Agree that it does look a little on the small side (unless those shoes are size 15 and the pennant cover is extra large). I thought this version only came in full-size. If this one is 3/4 size, then the value would probably be a bit less. So a measurement would indeed help :o

Thanks for the feedback! The dimensions are 27.5 Long by 7.5 wide

Hmmmm... perplexing. The 27.5" length is close to normal full-size, but the 7.5" height (spine) is way short. As an example, for a normal 28" pennant, you'd typically expect about an 11" spine

Are you, by chance counting the tassels in your length measurement? If so, please just provide the length of the "body" of the felt pennant without the tassels. That might be the hang-up.

Just checked and the dimensions are actually 27.5 x 11 :)

Well that's more like it....

Yep, I would stick with value of $500-$600. These "Championship Year" pennants really tend to hold their value.

The market for mid-priced pennants has "teetered" a little bit in recent years. But there are always more than enough Cub collectors to ensure the demand exceeds the supply. This one is a keeper!

Cool thanks for the feedback on it :)

Question for you guys. The Cubs didn't win the Series that season, so is this considered a phantom pennant? Or am I overlooking something?

Yeah, you could call it a Phantom....

Tough to tell for sure if the maker was a bit over-exuberant, or if they just mistakenly put "World Champions" instead of "National League Champions".

That is a great looking pennant. Did someone say billy goat?

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but although I think you're safe I would still like a better look at the pennant. I have sold this version before and if memory serves me correct the length should be closer to 29 inches. This pennant is generally full size and even an inch short sometimes is evidence of a well done trim. Hopefully not as the graphics look well placed and even. Jason

I have this pennant, and mine is also 27.5 inches long (not counting the tassels), and 11 inches wide.

Well, there you go. You are probably good to go with no worries.

Guys: I once owned a '43 Cardinals champs pennant with names which was very similar, showed a batter in stance, the names were displayed the same exact way. I remember it to be a tiny bit smaller. I am confident this is legit and unaltered.

No one can be sure without holding it in your hand, but it does appear to be ok
