Just saw his obit on the NYTimes website. The Long Season and Pennant Race are still two of my favorite baseball books.

Sad news!

I had the chance to contact Mr Brosnan to inquire about his interest in doing a paid appearance at a small card show not very far from his home in the Chicago suburbs. When I asked him if he would appear I received a flat "NO" and the conversation ended. I heard from a few others that he just didn't want to participate in shows and sign autographs. I even told him that the autographs would be free to the public and that still didn't entice him.

RIP Mr. Brosnan.
