Need help! The only one known. It's a vintage lou gehrig rawlings "hall of fame" labeling. Was this a salesman sample? Was it used in a movie? One of a kind. Rawlings made mlb jeries for teams like the cardinals, brooklyn dodgers. Never for the yankees. The label dates from 1939 - to the mid 1950's. Jersey shows use and is in great condition. Any info, please advise. I own it now. The owner i purchased this uniform last week purchased it at a hofstra sports card show on long island in th 1980's. Thanks for any info. Regards, evajoy91

Looks like a vintage uniform, with modern felt NY & # 4 added recently.

Lou Gehrig never wore a size 40 jersey either. That's an immediate red flag.

There was a thread a couple of months ago in which Dave Grob posted some info regarding this tagging which may be relevant to this discussion his comments are on page 2.

The tag shows the addition (now the middle section) of the Hall of Fame building that was built in the early 1950s, I believe.
