I am typically quite good at spotting signatures however this one has me stumped. I have figured out every signature on this ball but the bottom one shown below. The list of other players is (in case it helps) :

Zachary Wheat
Ed Roush
Stanley Coveleski
Casey Stengel
Luke Appling
Sam Rice
Chas Gehringer
Roy Campanella
Joe Medwick
Dizzy Dean
Pie Traynor
Ted Lyons

Thanks guys!

Hank Bauer is the first name that came to mind? Though it looks to be missing a couple letters.

Howard O. Bowen played in the Georgia State League in 1950.

Wow! That looks like it could be the one and, if so, it sticks out on that ball in a real "one of these kids is doing his own thing" kinda way. Pretty crazy.

That's weird, but not unheard-of. Wherever the event was where the ball was signed, this guy was probably there and just acted like another HOF'er, enjoying his unwarranted moment in the sun. I had something similar happen at a charity golf event where NFL players were signing. I have several pages of star NFL players, and a guy who apparently played golf and happened to be there. Even as a 10-year old I suspected the guy was an intruder.

When I was younger I was at Yankee spring training and assumed I was getting Mel Stottlemyre's autograph. But then it turned out the guy was just wearing the same jersey number like a lot of players do at spring training. But no one told me they did that!

I was not happy.

I had actually searched that name without seeing any autographs of him. Not opposed to moving this piece if someone had interest or an idea even in value. No coa at this time but signatures appear very genuine with only the campanella being at all questionable imo

Sounds like we are in the same page. Have a 1963 reds ball and 1939 Dodgers as well
