For a car that is from 1887, the gloss is amazing on this!!!!

I only have a handful of OJs, but I must say I'm not crazy about this one. I'm probably wrong, but that level of gloss combined with the slightly textured surface and the overexposed back picture make me think it's a fake.

To say nothing of his attitude and the --- lets just call it an optimistic price.

Gorgeous card, and if it were priced more reasonably I think we would find out from someone here that it's real.

Yes I do appreciate the instruction on how to collect in the write up.
Great contrast though. Does Jim have any eyes?

Nice card, very confident it is authentic. McCormick is a tougher card; I feel the price is fair (not mine, don't know seller). McCormick may be one of only a couple players where a strong photo quality can be distracting, at least on his action poses. This due to his eyes being "touched up" which gives him an eerie look. It wasn't uncommon for the photographers/"artists" of the day to take the liberty to touch-up the eyes.

Tomlinson Studio issued Lady Baldwin with both unaltered (bottom 2) and altered eyes (top 2). I've added the higher resolution close-up in the oval to make it easier to see. I'll take my Lady Baldwin with pupils . . . thank you :)

Thanks for the info Joe--consider us all your pupils. Tidbits like these are surely eye opening.
