Off topic and might have been answered before.

But I won a lot in grey flannel last night. They're in NY and I'm in MA. But in my invoice was charged tax is this a new law? Thanks

From their auction 'Rules' section:

SALES TAX: All State of New York and Massachusetts residents must pay sales tax. Since each county is different, the appropriate tax will be included in your final invoice. New York and Massachusetts dealers: if you have a resale number, please make sure that we have it on file or you will pay sales tax.

This way you won't have to report the purchase on your personal tax return.

Perhaps their mailing address is in NY, but they have a "business presence" in MA and are therefore required to pay sales tax on in-state sales?

Just hope that stupid "internet sales tax" idea never passes, or there will be a lot more bemoaning this sort of thing.
