I was wondering if anybody could tell me what year these pennants are from and how much they are worth. One pennant is American League All Stars and the other is a Detroit Tigers pennant. I looked in the pennant price guide but did not see these in there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd love to see you put this in the "Hey, pennant guys" thread...

a) to bump that thread

b) I guarantee you'll get a spot on answer.

I'm probably only stating the obvious, but the Dodgers pennant has to be 1958-1961 because it features the LA Coliseum.

not only are you stating the obvious, he didn't even ask about that one. Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

The American League All Star pennant is listed in the 2nd edition of Mike Egner's "Vintage Pennant Price Guide" on pg 10.

It does not narrow down the year much further than we know based on looking at it (pre-1954 by the presence of the Browns).

What the book does say is

1940's / 50's
Full Size / Very Rare
300 - 400

They're all three good pennants. YankeeFan answered the All Stars Pennant price question, and going from memory (I don't have Mike's Guide handy) I'd say that Dodgers version ranges from $125 - $175 in EX condition. Used to go a bit higher, but quite a few have turned up in recent years.

That leaves the Detroit Pennant. It's a rare one, but rare doesn't always translate to super expensive. The Tigers put out more variations over the mid-century time period than any other team. This one is late forties/early fifties. I would say $100 - $150 on the value, assuming no significant flaws.

Hope this helps!

Thank you guys for all of the information. I greatly appreciate it. The Tigers is just about perfect, the dodgers has some issues and the AL is in nice shape. Thanks again everyone!

I believe that style of Tigers pennant is a Kezar (sp) brand and might have a stamp of that on the back of the pennant. I also think that all star pennant is referred as being from 1953 if I remember correctly. Jason
