Thoughts on this card? (http://www.ebay.com/itm/1939-PLAY-BALL-TED-WILLIAMS-ROOKIE-CARD-PSA-2-BOSTON-RED-SOX-/291154678475?pt=US_Baseball&hash=item43ca2bd2cb) It looks pretty nice for its grade to me, but it is hard for me to judge gloss, wrinkles or registration from scans. Any helpful hints?

No hints here, looks about the right grade. I don't collect these, so I don't know about the price.

I would be careful posting a link to an auction. Someone else may be interested and swoop in.

James, the image as it's displayed in the auction is only 50% size. When I copied the image and took it into Photoshop, and inverted the colors, a pretty substantial crease is pretty easy to see parallel to his right, or lead, leg. It appears to run from his ankle all the way through the darker area to where his knee is. It's about what I would expect for a 2. It's a pretty nice card, if you ask me. Good luck.

The bottom front border looks really white?

Thanks Bill, that is exactly the sort of "trick" I was hoping to learn. It can be so hard to judge cards in a scan and I don't want to buy a card and be unhappy when it arrives because I didn't see something.

I'm actually not able to purchase the card at this time so not worried about somebody snagging it.
