I recently picked up this Jones scrap that has a double strike caption. I have asked around, but have yet to locate another example with this same type of error. I'm pretty sure there must a few more out there. Trying to see if any other board member has seen this error type before.

Thanks,

Jerry

Wow cool error. I'm no T206 expert, but I've never seen a caption error like that.

There is an Anderson that I consigned to LOTG (and currently on eBay) that has the same effect, albeit not as clear as the Jones. Nice card.

Erick,

I have seen the Anderson, but only the first few letters of the name have this sort of effect. The Jones has the entire caption with a double strike.

Thanks,

Jerry

you just beat me to that:) congrats my friend....double strike= double rare..

never seen the double struck caption.... like Erick said...Anderson ect...

but with printers scraps, as you can see, anything is possible and they become "mini" works of art to me....

as we talk....I think you are my long lost bro.....your appreciation for these puts you in my "scrap" lovers club:) but the competition is killing me:);)

again...congrats :D call me

peace

Thanks to all who posted a reply. I appreciate the feedback.

I've attached a back scan and a comparison scan to a normal Jones example.

Anderson has the full name double struck, albeit much lighter than the Jones. There is no apparent double strike in the team name, however:
