I saw that there is a thread for some of these for sale at a great price in the "Tobacco cards other then T-206" section, which I suggest folks go to, as they are sharp!!

But Seeing them so cheap, and then a story I have, combined, makes me wonder, why are these so cheap and not sought after more.

As stated before, I am recently back in the hobby after leaving in the 90's, and coming back a couple years ago. Before I knew of this board, I took some of my cards I bought as a youngster in the 70's/80's, to a shop in Wichita, and asked what they were.
He stated they were T202 end panels. I asked what they were worth and his response was that they were basically like the 1980 Basketball ones, and since they were just the panels, they were "worthless".
Of coarse I disagreed with him under my breath, but then I see this thread and see how cheap they are and was just wondering why they are so cheap?

They are cheap because they are pieces of cards, not complete ones. Collectors frown on cards being torn apart.

Do a quick google search on T202 cards and you'll see what an entire card should look like.

Some people dont like them, some people do, I would never purposefully tear a T202 but if it comes like that fine,I dont judge previous collectors and their preferences. I think they are nice pieces for the age/price or if you collect a city or team.

What Barry said is true...T202 end panels will produce frowns. However, they are a great way to pick up T205 artwork at a very reasonable price. Here is a link to a thread I started about them a couple of years back. (Ignore the T206 reference in the title...I was just yanking the chain of T206 collectors and the T206centricity of this board....Net54 minus NE plus 152 = T206 board).

I checked out your thread Brian. You inspired about as good a discussion as I did last time I started a thread about e120s :D
