View Full Version : 1934 Goudey signed Hank Greenberg
Now that this auction is over, I feel safe with posting this...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/321384737738?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Seller claims that the autograph on the card is not authentic. I own 9 Greenberg autographs, but I don't think this is a fake, although I never have seen a fake...
I emailed the seller and received this note:
"While we do not have a formal evaluation, someone very familiar with a three-letter company that specializes in authenticating signatures told us it was not a genuine Greenberg auto."
Just wanted to get thoughts on this auto.

Hmm...
I think you got a steal.
This is mine. It looks pretty similar.

Also, while I am no fan of the three letter crowd, mine came already slabbed by PSA.
Unfortunately I wasn't the one who won the auction

I might have the largest collection of different signed Greenberg cards. Marks looks great. The one on ebay is iffy. Looks alittle forced and not smooth. I probably wouldn't have bid but it could be good

The eBay seller is the card shop that Bill Huggins of Huggins and Scott auctions owns. If it was good they'd have a LOA and be selling it in their next auction.

Another Greenberg thread and another chance for me to show off one of my favorite pieces :).
I actually went to his high school (James Monroe) in the Bronx.
I am not a card guy but I have 7 signed Greenberg pictures.

What a great and unique piece!! I have never seen a Greenberg letter like that using his military rank. In fact I have rarely seen any letters by HOFers written during their military service using their rank and full name.
Bump. Apparently the card was never paid for, reauctioned and sold for about $50 less
