Really amazing stuff.

Thanks for sharing the link. That's why I love the web. I get to see stuff that I would probably never get to see in person.

A mother lode of 19th Century baseball images. K-Bat Heaven. Just what I needed to enable me to procrastinate doing my taxes. Thanks, Max.

Living in New York, I've visited the collection numerous times over the years. It's interesting to note how many duplicates are included. In some cases there are ten examples of the same image. I wonder why Spalding stockpiled like that.

Wow! If that doesn't get the collecting juices flowing nothing will. What great images!

Yes I have also noticed the duplicates. I think it's also worth noting that there is nothing new (as far as I can tell) with respect to what's available online at the link that started this thread. The easily searchable NYPL Spalding collection page has been up for as long as I can remember -
http://digitalgallery.nypl.org/nypldigital/explore/dgexplore.cfm?col_id=198

All that is new at the new link Max posted is the nifty book-like presentation. However, it does not appear to be searchable and repeats all the same errors.
