My brother picked up this interesting baseball today...1936 or 37 AL Harridge ball with Western League stampings (A.J. McLauglin President). It is Red/White stitched which I thought was only used for All Star games, but apparently the WL used this style also. Also appears signed by some players but no names can be made out. Anyone ever seen this ball before?

I wouldn't be able to resist the urge to figure out who a few of the names are, then use that to determine the team. I see 'Leo'

Try looking at it under a black light. You would be surprised the details that will come out. Knowing the approximate years and the League will help tremendously to narrow it down as well (you're only talking 6 teams in the league for each season, so at most, 12 rosters to look at). If you can make a good guess on one or two, I bet you could pin it down exactly.

Don't know anything about the ball itself, but it is interesting. I once had a DeBeer Anchor Brand ball with red/white laces like that that I knew was early, but nothing to definitively date it.

In fact, I would wager that the "Leo" above the McLaughlin stamp is Leo Kintana of the 1936 Omaha Robin Hoods / Rock Island Islanders. What I can see of the last name seems to at least follow the form of those letters.

I think you're right...thanks for the detective work.
