Kirby Puckett's book "I Love This Game, My Life and Baseball" autographed and given to his former teammate Chili Davis.

138518

I also just bought last week a Mickey Owens signed book to Lou Boudreau off of eBay. Waiting for it to be delivered. I recently started to like books written by players signed to other players.

Max, "Geo V. Robinson" is pictured on page xiv at the rear, and is described as photographer for the Evening Post of San Francisco. Great book, also love the association copies. (I have always been amazed that there is a photograph of Mathewson (p xi) in a book published in 1902, about the history of baseball from 1845 to 1875.)

How common are A.G. Spalding autographs? I think this is the first one that I've seen. Very nice.

Oddy, his signature is attainable on that book, but still not easy at all. I think that is a great signature/book, which Id love to read. The Slanted Mills commission history lesson;)

The only one I own, a recent pickup and while not 100% baseball related, the signer played a large role in one of the early baseball Cigarette card issues.

Why yes it is.

While he was a very prolific and controversial writer/business owner and fairly well to do, coupled with the fact that he ran a large cigarette company for nearly a decade and had to have signed many, many items. This is the first I have found.

Telemachus Thomas Timayenis the T.T.T. as in owner of Mentor Co. which sold Ramly and T.T.T. T204's. He was a lightning rod on many fronts and was involved in a major anti-trust law suit with the ATC.

I've seen the TTT on a few backs, but never the 'lightning rod on many fronts'.

I know, that was real bad.

T.T.T. - great. something else to research and learn about and appreciate and then want to own some piece of memorabilia about. terrific. :)

I can play in this convo - here are a few of my signed books. I usually ask the authors to personalize with a message. For the Richter book I do assume the Ban Johnson sig is real but have never gotten it authenticated.

Good stuff guys!

As is usual for me, no baseball. These are all books signed by Olympians.

1. James B. Connolly - winner of the first ever gold medal in modern Olympic history at the 1896 Olympics. Later went into journalism and authored over a dozen maritime related books

2. A.C. Gilbert - 1908 pole vault gold medalist. Two world records in the pole vault. 1906 Intercollegiate wrestling champ. Invented the Erector Set. His company A.C. Gilbert Company also manufactured American Flyer Trains. He patented the process of coating copper wires in small electric motors. Also earned a medical degree from Yale, but never practiced medicine. Most of his signed books are inscribed but using only his initials 'A.C.'

3. Eddie Eagan - The only Olympian to win a gold medal in both the summer (Boxing 1920) and winter (bobsled 1932) Olympics. Served in both WWI & WWII where he rose to the rank of colonel. A Rhodes Scholar. Became an amateur boxing champ while at Oxford. Became a practicing lawyer after the 1932 Olympics and later NY State Boxing Commissioner.

Oh, is that a SWEET Commy!

Thanks again for selling this one to me, Max. One of my favorite pieces in my HOF and signed book collections.

Wow....there is some fantastic stuff in this thread. Don't have much to contribute but this is a new pickup for me so thought I'd post it here. Not an author related signed item though but is signed on a few different pages and has a '35 World Series Ticket Stub attached.
