What website do you use to display and organize your collection?
What are some of the pros and cons of the site you use?

I'm extremely pleased with Volusion. Oddly, the web-crawlers aren't picking up my tags, as I'm selling much, much more on ebay, even with overhead added, but I will still keep the Volusion site simply for displaying my collection, or for use when ebay finally f*cks itself to death with it's lack of customer consideration.
Volusion is super-simple to use, has great support, categories, simple design and a lot of templates to choose from, and I really like the ability to load hi-res images quickly. If you like to design your own pages, it's not a good solution, which is why I also have a Homestead website. Between the two, I feel well-covered for all of my hobby needs. Oh, and 15 minutes can save you hundreds on car insurance.

I have had a Yahoo website for about 9 yrs. It works for what I need...and costs about $165 a year...
I should add that the one I use isn't only a repository for pictures and stuff, it's more of a full fledged site with lots of things that I know nothing about. It is also www.luckeycards.com
I like having my own website :)

it is, as they say, the shizzle.
(not a lot of bells n' whistles, but it's simple, effective, and free. It's also intended for card & memorabilia collectors)

Flickr. Simple to setup and fairly customizable.

I second this. I love having my own website. One day soon there will be something worthwhile there for people to look at, too!

I was using photo bucket, but recently started putting my collection on WhiteWhaleCards.com. Though I don't know what the future of that site is as I am the only one that has recently uploaded stuff and my last uploads were four days ago.
It really is easy to upload to the site your collection. They went really strong when they first launched by doing a Cobb giveaway and promoting here, but I don't know what happened after that.
I use image event also. It is very easy for a luddite like me.

So many nice collections. Thanks for sharing Scott, Toronto Jeff, Chuck, Chris & Andy.
Am I correct in saying imagevent costs about $25 per year and collector's focus and flickr are free?
Andy, I have the same concern as you do with White Whale. They started out with a bang, but we haven't heard anything else from them lately.
Leon, Wow, Wow, Wow! I knew your type card collection was ridiculously extensive, but seeing it all on your website is just insane.

I'd like to be able to create categories and sub-categories. For example: Main Category 1950s with 10 sub-categories (1950, 1951, 1952...)
It appears this cannot be done with Collector Focus, does ImageEvent or Flickr offer this feature?

Chris, ImageEvent does give you the ability to create sub-albums.

I just looked at your ImageEvent site. That's exactly why I am looking for. I think I will give this a go!

I use Square Space to host my website. I use Picasa to host all of my scans.

Hi Chris,
I use Collector Focus too (click link in my footer).
I previously used Photobucket and put a lot of time into organizing categories (folders) and subcategories, but they did some kind of format change at one point and it totally scrambled all the work I had put in . I was upset to say the least...
Cheers,
Blair
