It's be pretty cool to have it matted over a photo copy of the signature, if you could match it up.

1) Because that is Mathewson's handwriting, as a comparison with any complete Mathewson check will easily confirm.

2) I bought it this way. (Even I'm not stupid enough to destroy an artifact.)

Great place-holder for those of us who have 4 out of the original 5 inductees, and have some misplaced notion that we will eventually acquire a Matty signature.

I like the idea of getting a photocopy of a Matty signature to insert in that space. If you google 'Mathewson signed check', you'll find one that is only 18 checks and < 1 month from this one.
