Apparently the Seller doesn't know it's against EBay rules to sell a Wagner ungraded.:p

Checking to see if he'll take $15k tonight, excited for the response. Gotta respect the free shipping though.

"The card has been brought to three baseball card experts who can not dispute its authenticity and agree the condition is a 4-5"

I love the smell of bullshit in the morning...

I wonder if the three experts were Moe, Larry and Curly or the three monkeys. The ones with their hands over their eyes, ears and mouth.

You mean the Evil Bros, or was it the Everly Bros??--I forget!

I knew the monkeys were see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil but I didn't know that they were called the Evil brothers.

Yes, Dewey, cheatum and Howe is a MUCH better (and appropriate) example.

I sent the seller a quick email saying it was fake. This was his responce:

If you reread my description, I do not believe it to be a fake. Are you an authenticator that can help me determine otherwise? If so, please give me your business info and I will be happy to investigate.

Apparently the Seller doesn't know it's against EBay rules to sell a Wagner ungraded.:p

Note only is EBay not enforcing their rules, they are actually promoting this auction.

I received an email today saying "Still looking? Rare Honus Wagner T206 Card" and linking to the auction.

That is very odd. Is there a way for you to respond to the email?

I suggested that the seller raise his BIN price based on recent sales of higher grade Wagners. He told me he was considering asking $400,000, but wouldn't because he could not afford the $1,100 PSA wanted for authentication. He asked for my suggestions. I'm stumped, but I hate to see him leave all that money on the table. I'd be happy to relay anyone's suggestions for the seller.

Tell him to submit it to GAI. I'll bet he could get a better price from them.

Bidding's pretty high now. Can the seller lower his reserve and if so, would the high bidder be obligated to pay, even if his bid was less than reserve at the time he bid it? I've never sold on eBay, so not sure how all that works.

It seems to me that if you would bid $1800, you evidently think it is real, and would pay the $20K BIN

I don't think he can require payment.

This happened to me once. I was the highest bidder but didn't reach the reserve. The seller offered it to me at my high bid and I accepted. Since it was my choice, it seems like I wasn't obligated.
But this was back in 2006. I don't know if that still holds true today.

Well, I responded with the suggestion of consideration of moving the card via an Auction House if his reserve is not reached, explaining that the Auction Houses frequently will cover the cost of authentication and grading and the prices realized and fees are comparable to Ebay. I apologize in advance to any of my Auction House friends, who may have to break the news to the seller. In my defense I did not make any specific recommendations.;);)

When the seller told me it could be real "You never know", I told him that I know. The auction was then wisely discontinued by the seller, and then

this morning I thought for a moment it had been relisted, but alas this is a different rarity.:eek::eek:

Could be worth a million, but he'll sell it for $5,000.

LOL! Not one punctuation mark:

This Honus Wagner Card from what I researched is called T-206 I don't know anything about baseball at all but me and my friend were asked to clean out my grandmothers Garage and we found this card she said it was probably something of my grandfathers my friend nearly flipped when he saw it told me it could be worth a lot and I seen the Ebay prices for this type of condition vs the one I saw when i researched it was I believe over 1Million dollars and I don't know anything about baseball so it holds no value to me it looks like it could be the original so It's up for sale for this price

Pete- I'm not sure I would dignify it by even calling it a sentence. More like run-on gobbledygook.

Barry, correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the appropriate term for such a sentence was

Stream of Unconsciousness
