Although this is a few years later than Pre-WWII it's close enough for government work to be on the front page. For the record, the further off topic a thread is the more it should really be in another section. I don't t think I/we have ever said anything about any 1940s baseball card on the front page.

That being said here is a neat little card recently added to the type set. It is from the 1947 Morley Studios Tacoma Tigers set. According to the SCD Big Book, this set features players from the Western International League. There were 28 cards in the set. Interestingly too, on this card the word "Breadcaster" is at the bottom which refers to the sponsor, Jordon's Bread ( I presume) along with the name of the broadcaster. ....I can't say I have looked for them but this is the first one I have seen and it has some neat equipment pictured too...If anyone has more let's see them.

Rare as hen's teeth is what they are. I always keep an eye out for them on Ebay, but no luck so far.

Never seen one either. Am very interested in this issue, especially if more of the WIL is represented, or is it only Tacoma players? Twenty eight seems like a lot for one team.

While not an extra rare issue card, I hope this team photo is not too off-topic. Here's my WIL contribution, 1948 Wenatchee Chiefs team photo. Close enough for government work, no?

Aside from the individual player cards, Morley Studios also produced a very nice set of RPPCs of all 8 WI League teams in 1947 ("EKC" postcard backs). Here are three of them.

They produced a set of postcard-sized, blank-backed real photo composite player cards of the 1948 WIL Tacoma tigers as well, one pictured here.

Finally, a picture of the very rare envelope which the cards came in, which pictures legendary Tacoma broadcaster Clay Huntington's card, and details the promotion.

Fun stuff!

Nice cards. I like the design a lot

These were the best looking ones, to me, in the large lot of them I won a long time ago. Most images are just a player and pose with no equipment. And that is the only horizontal one too. Of course I cherry picked them. What red blooded, passionate collector wouldn't?

I have been collecting this series for quite some time. As Leon & the envelope posted above state this set should be categorized in the hobby as a D-Series BREAD ISSUE. I am missing Tinsley to have the set of 28.

Here are a few more...
