Hopefully I'm not wrong in outing this auction. I just don't want to see somebody get burned. Does anyone else have serious doubts about this cards authenticity?

I'm no e90-1 expert, but it definitely doesn't look good to me.

The color and font both look bad to me

What is weird is that he has some legit cards listed, but some I'm sure are fakes. Not sure how many? I messaged him and he didn't seem to care about listing them, just that he would offer a refund if they were found to be not authentic. I see this going bad for the bidders and the seller.

Scans are terrible and probably purposely so but the biggest tip off is the reverse. How can both the left and right borders be faded out but the center be much more clear. Additionally the font on the reverse is not near heavy enough, the printing should be much thicker. I'd say very good chance it's bogus. Definetly not worth taking a chance for $600+. As a seller the only reason not to get a high dollar card graded would be that it's not legit, if u'd offer a month refund why wouldn't u take a few weeks time to have it graded where u could recognize 3x the sales price. Only one answer to that.

The CJ - Zimmerman is questionable too, right?

I would say all the ungraded cards he is selling are very questionable. The CJ the M101's, the 36 Worldwide and the Wagner. Just my opinion though.

In my mind the Wags is 100% fake. Not even a good one...It kind of makes me sick to my stomach. I would guarantee it is not good, from the scans.

Really an odd selection of items. The T201's look good, but some of the cards are obviously fakes. Not sure if it's intentional or someone w/o knowledge of the cards that they are selling.

The Wagner is an obvious fake.

Definitely an authentic reprint.

Maybe the seller knows exactly what they are doing? As in, list some real but low dollar vintage cards and then sprinkle in a few higher dollar cards that are reprints and hope the buyers don't know any better and they get away with the money.

I know an auctioneer in my area who allegedly does this with "estate sales" that he has and I also think an eBay seller I have been after for years (with no luck or help from eBay) also does this.

If the card sells and the buyer doesn't know that it is a fake then the seller gets to keep the money and move on. If the buyer realizes what has happened, the seller gives the money back and says, "oops, I didn't know the card was fake".

I'm thinking the seller has no idea it is fake...and it is unequivocally phony as a $3 bill...otherwise why would he offer a 14 day return policy? Sounds like a headache all around to me?

Card looks fake to me. Tell tale description, " Dad bought the card ", usually raises a red flag for me. The questionable cards always drag in a family member or the estate with the description.

On the off chance the buyer figures it out to be fake the dishonest seller will refund the money to keep there good feedback and jump for joy when they do not figure it out. Probstien123 has done this a few times on misrepresented items like the Bill Russell autograph. Just one of thousand of different scams on eBay.

Winning bidder's history looks a little suspicious.....but not a dead giveaway from my initial view....but yikes if it were a real sale.. $900+

Here's the Wagner from my E90-1 set (it's a real one)....for an A - B comparison with the subject of interest here.

As Leon pointed out, the bidding history on this ebay item looks very suspect.
