View Full Version : Pre-1930s Baseball postcard scenes
Back in the early 1900s general photography was many times done by using postcards. The early baseball scenes, on that medium, are a great collecting niche. Here are a few recent pick ups of them..The top 2 are not postmarked and the bottom is postmarked 1909. .. and would love to see others.

Nice postcards, Leon. There are certainly a lot of very nice Swayne Field RPPC's out there, and I've not seen the one you just posted before.

This is actually a photograph, but it's a neat scene of a player caught in a pickle...circa 1910 Lincoln.

Steve, Great card!! I live in Springfield, Missouri - just a stone's throw from both Monett and Sarcoxie. And August 16th is my birthday!!! (not 1909). If you ever wanna unload that, I might have an interest.

To me, this is what it's all about. Kids playing ball out in the prairie with one of their dads as umpire. There are two houses as far as the eye can see and the sky seems to go forever....wherever this is, I bet its sadly all paved over and developed by now.
