I'm just curious if this is real or not. I don't collect goudeys and I am not sure what to look for. The 2 photos are the best I have, any help would be appreciated Thanks Shannon

Fake. Artificial aging. Poor image quality.

The "age lines" on the card look off to me. I am not talking about the scratches.

A bad fake. Color on front is way off and aging doesn't look legit at all. Wouldn't touch this with a ten-foot pole.

Agreed, but with an 11 foot pole .....

Methinks the card is screaming, "I'M OLD!" just a bit too much.

Look at his skin. Either the Babe got into some poison ivy mid-way through the printing process or this is a horrible fake.

This Goudey Ruth in the original post should be the poster child for fake cards.

An obvious fake. If you even have to ask you should only buy raw cards if they're under $10.

I remember when the '33 Goudeys were reprinted back in the '80's. The first run did not include the word "reprint." As I recall, they were pretty well done. Ever since then, I have always been cautious about that set, which is still one of my favorites.
