OK, so I just bought this off eBay because I LOVE the history of our hobby. So my question is:

Could this be Richard Egan's personal copy??? I know it isnt in the best condition, but why would there be a stamp with his name and address on it otherwise??

Thanks,
Greg

That is nice Greg. I truly believe another reason I love baseball isn't just its "rich history", but the rich history of the associated collecting world of it. Its so addictive, and fascinating. Id give mainly anything to be able to really buy things and such. It is just the best

Richard Egan? Are we talking about the Dick Egan in the T206 set? His personal copy? Forgive me for my ignorance....

No Richard Egan was a hobbyist in the early 70s. Not sure if he is still around but I think he is. He sold off some of his collection in 2004 through Mastro.

and to add he is most noted for his Guide to Early Gum and Caramel cards, again, put out in the 1969...

here is a link on to our archive section with some Egan stuff...

I think it is his copy. I go back to doing shows starting in 1972 and I had my own copy, which I sold on E-Bay two years ago. It didn't have his name on the bottom right hand corner. Great pick up!
