Just wondering if anyone else on the board has any 2014 resolutions regarding collecting or there collecting approach? As for me, and stop me if you`ve heard this one before, I have got to get more FOCUSED. thanx to RMY now I`ve found myself branching out into photos and may even take the plunge on a Big time autograph. Well, maybe 2015 will be the year to focus!

I don't make resolutions as I don't keep them. Suffice it to say I am going to try to continue the path in hopes of finding a D351 or D355. I will no doubt pick up a few things that I haven't thought about yet along the way. Eventually I want a '33 Goudey Ruth #144 again...Just waiting for the perfect one at a good price... I love collecting.....

This is a great thread about a then-new D351 discovery:

Leon, I'm sure you have offered multiple vital organs as trade.

It's not an issue until I get a D355, which will be just as hard or harder than a D351. I have a card or two to trade Dan when/if the time comes.....Hopefully I find a D351 before that and it becomes a moot issue. I don't know of anyone else looking for one, though of course there is a demand/price for any of our rare vintage cards so there will always be some value.

Well, I have 4 of them so don't really "need" another ......but if one pops up that I don't have I might have in interest in it.

As far as I know 0. I have only seen one for sale and didn't get it when I should have. I know where it is but it's not going anywhere :(.

Four of them walked into a coin shop about 3 yrs ago but the owner left never to be seen again.

I'm just starting on collecting T206s, focusing first on getting to 518 different front poses. My resolution for 2014 is to average buying at least one "common" a week and one HOFer or SLer a month. There is no reason I shouldn't be able to meet this goal. I've got a small lot of very good commons coming in later this week which will put me ahead of my goal for a while so I'm going to save toward getting my first Mathewson or Johnson by the end of February if possible.

My New Years Resolution is to buy very little in the coming year. Over the last two years I have been grabbing a variety of catcher type cards for my collection.

In reality, I really only have a handful of "must have" cards left on my wantlist:

Munson Old Mill Cabinet, 1912 Claude Berry Zeenut, 1912 Ralph Kreitz HRK, Johnny Kling Plow Boy Tobacco cabinet, and my run of Chief Meyers colored S74 silks.

Enjoy the year, collect, move on to 2015. I think I can manage these goals. ;)

I promised my wife I'd take all of 2014 off. :(

I have a TTM project I've been given the ok for and that should keep me occupied for a month or two.

I've been putting my best effort toward finishing 2013 strong though. It will probably take me all of January to sort out everything that's been purchased over the last week.

Just remember the story of WC Fields and try to apply it to card collecting in 2014.

A friend of WC Fields saw Fields on his deathbed reading the bible. The friend was perplexed and asked Fields, a lifelong Atheist, why he was reading the Bible?

"Looking for loopholes," was Fields response.

Look for the loopholes and Happy New Year.

My monster count is sitting at 79, and my resolution is to get to 100 this year. I also have a resolution to smoke more cigars this year. One is clearly more health than the other, but the other is more addictive.

Good luck with all of your resolutions!

1- spend less than 2013
2- finally sell some dupes I haven't yet been able to part with
3- don't feel guilty if I fail at 1 and 2
