This is in nice condition for a Wagner but I don't see other cards getting a PSA 2 when corners are rounded so severely that there is loss of color. Even looks like a speck of paper loss along the top border. That being said... if I win the lottery tonight that baby is mine.

Yup, not a 2, still better than a trimmed 8.:D

That right corner looks torn off or clipped off. A decent image though.

I'm shooting for the paltry $1 million prize, where the probability is a much more reasonable 1 in 18 million I believe. Won't be able to spring for the Wagner but look forward to filling a couple other gaps in my collection.

Agree -- that's a very generous "2"! Once again, Mr. Wagner gets the benefit of a little bit of "wiggle room" on the grading scale (eg. the Wagner with the stamp that eluded the MK qualifier, the PSA 8 Wagner, just to name a couple).

I sincerely would hope that in terms of hammer price, it doesn't matter if they made the even more egregious mistake of calling it a 3. I trust collectors' eyes to know what a card is and price it accordingly. We see it all the time with exeptional low grade cards that look like higher grades, and the market prices them way above the assigned grade.

I can't imagine some guys out there would pay 5 money for a card that is labeled a 5, but looks like a 3. Then again, the whole Registry thing can play into wanting a higher-numbered label I suppose.

Would like to add that I'd be very happy to own that card! Image hits the eye very well. Can't hate on it at all, regardless of what some arbitrarily assigned sticker says.

Does anybody know the history of this Wagner? Is it a known one that has been around or is it new?

Why I ask is because I once knew an older gentleman who had an ungraded Wagner (he knew about grading but didn't believe in getting his cards graded). Anyway, he would be in his mid-70's now. Back when I knew him, he said if I ever got enough money, I could buy part or all of his collection (would have to win the lottery). If I didn't buy it then he was going to will it to his two sons.

Back then they were mildly interested in collecting but they might not be now. So, whenever a Wagner comes up for auction, I always wonder if the Wagner is the one from the guy I used to know. I always think about what the card might grade (from what I can remember, a 3 or less?) and what it might bring at auction.

That's a solid 1.5.

This Wagner is No. 13 on T206Resource.com's (http://www.t206resource.com) sales-history list, which shows that it last sold publicly in 2005.

Given that PSA didn't have half-grades then, I can see how, if having to choose between grading this card a 1 or a 2, PSA went with a 2. The card is closer to being good than it is poor. But yeah, I'd grade it fair.

If they didn't have half grade designations, I believe they still had the "PR-FR" label back then, right? I agree with Barry, definitely a solid 1.5

I agree that it is probably closer to a 1.5, but it is still a nice looking Wagner - better than many. My sense is that on these people pay according to actual condition and eye-appeal rather than the number on the slab.

Pretty nice Wagner, I'm sure most people (myself included) would love
to own it. Unfortunately this is probably the only scarce T206 wagner
I will ever own there were only 30 printed with a Bazooka back.

I'm as much an Ali fan as anyone. I still remember listening to the first Liston fight on the radio when I was 14 years old. But, I have to draw a line at his jockstrap. Just can't imagine wanting or how to display it.

Have PSA grade it and then you will know how to best display it.
