My collecting focus has shifted quite a bit the last few years away from type collecting to a few smaller projects.

With my new focus...there aren't really any high buck...holy grail type cards on my radar...so this one will have to do for now!

Nice question this morning ... i realized many of my card collecting dream since i start collecting in 1991.

I think for me this card is a hockey card. I owned arround 1/3 of the impossible to find sweet caporal postcard hockey set but i never owned and see the postcard of my favorite player vezina . Vezina is my favorite not only because it is a great goalies but because vezina come from Chicoutimi and i live in Chicoutimi:)

Picture of this card, it is a beauty

E90-1 or CJ Joe Jackson. Would also like a Boston Store or Collins McCarthy Babe Ruth but considering how much I will likely be paying for the former, I doubt very much I will ever own the latter :(

The only card I would like to own deep down is a 51B Mantle -- came close when the price was in the $200 range for off quality in the 1980's but never quite got one at that level.

That, and a card which I know is owned by the non net54 moderator in Brockleman and Luckey :)

The 1869 Cinci P/S CDV has been there for me for awhile, actually bid on one a couple years back.

More thought into the 1914 CJ Matty as I draw near the end of my project has become another.

Too many to mention but one would be M116 blue Matty (no interest in the pastel). I could sell my Eddie Collins in same to defray part of cost which is always nice.

Of course I'd love to own a T206 Wagner or Plank but that isn't going to happen, so I guess I'd consider this one a bucket list card, FB HOFer Nagurski on a wrestling exhibit:

There are a few Old Judges I would really like to have, but the likelihood of getting even one is pretty remote, let alone more than one or all of them. For several different reasons I would love to get a Taylor Shaffer, a Jake Wells (Jason, I like your taste :D) or a Peek-A-Boo Veach, but I suppose I could die a happy man if I could get a Frank Hankinson to complete my New Jersey subset.

Strangely it would be a fantastic looking N162 Kelly in medium grade, as I don't even collect 19th century cards.

Hahaha. That's great Scott. I was thinking the same thing, but mine would be the E90-1 Keeler Throwing. Seems to have the smeared lipstick problem as well.

Wow, I've never even seen this felt with the red infield.

The red infields were brown infield print errors that only occurred with the Tigers and Braves players. Mike Wheat has one on eBay right now, but they are pretty scarce.

Great question, Pete. Just one?

Hmm. I have to agree with some of the others that have already answered, and go with a Joe Jackson. But as much as I love the Cracker Jack, I want to go a different direction. I find myself really becoming a fan of these older cards with the black and white photography, like the Exhibits arcade cards, for example.

Shocking how many Joe Jackson lovers are out there!!!

Any one (or more) of the following: 1952 Indianapolis Clowns PC H. Aaron, 1914 Balt. News Ruth, 1929 Cienfuegos PC Cool Papa Bell, 1921 Tip Top Grove, or any of the 1894 Alpha Photo Engraving Orioles "rookies"...most would require that I win the lottery although it'll be hard to win when I don't play!! Maybe there are some generous collectors out there who want to add me to their wills?????

But tops on my list would probably be the 1976 California HS North-South AS Game PC of the greatest lead-off hitter of all time, Mr. Rickey Henderson!!

No wonder. The board has a thread on dead dogs and other deceased pets, which has more replies than this one. Even Ed Lauter has kicked the bucket w/o The Wagner Two very active simultaneous threads on the corruption of the hobby. At this rate I'll be lucky to get a 61T Joe Pignatano:eek:

I wanna hang with Mike Sandlock and hope some of him rubs off. I'll bet he's not worrying about cards.

Over the past few years, there are probably a handful cards I've grown to want more (ex- CJ Jackson, OJ Radbourn and Delahanty, Hoshi Gangu Sadaharu Oh, Zeenut Joe D, E135 Ruth, etc), but for sake of how long I'd dreamed of owning this single card, I have to go with the '52 Mantle. A nice clean lower/mid grade (3-4) example would hit the spot. That card was "it" for me at age 10, and still carries most of its magic.

Well being 21 years old I have not thought of such a thing...but...I will say I have thought of cards that I wish to own before I'm 30 :D. The thought of dying is too far away to even fathom...

Anyways, my dream card before I hit 30 is a 52 Topps Mantle graded either a 5 or 6.

Not a card or even pre-war, but would not mind 1950-53 seafair pinback to complete the collection.

'33 Goudey Ruth or '34 Goudey Gehrig.

Great choices, of course, Paul.

Those are on my list for 2014. I'm going to knock at least one of them off. I think the #149 card for the '33 Ruth (hard for me to choose between that and #144). The '34 Gehrig is an easy choice for me. #37 just blows my socks off.

I really like the 1921 Exhibits Ruth, though, so I don't know if I'll go for that or the Goudey first.

So many tough choices ;)

I'd like to rescind my initial card offering...I selected it in haste as I'm going for the set and it will most likely be the last card I acquire to complete the set.

I kinda feel like Adam...there are cards I'd like to own...but in the end they're just cards!

Well, for me, who has owned virtually every popular postwar card, except for the '52T Mantle...I'd say that one. In fact, if I owned it, I might just have to say I'm done collecting. My journey is complete! :) Truthfully, I've never really pursued it, so I guess that means I'm not ready to quit collecting!

If you have a low grade one...and you don't mind TRADING it to me....let me know! :)

My goal was to always own a M101/4 Ruth. Unless I win the lottery, I think death might win this race. I do feel fortunate that I picked up a Collins McCarthy Ruth when it was still semi-affordable. I will probably settle for a E90-1 Jackson.

There are several cards I'd like to own including one in particular that I believe is still owned by a respected board member. But, as a civil service retiree, it doesn't look like it's going to happen in this life. Happily, life has been largely complete already.

Nevah going to happen but dream card for me T210 Joe Jax or Matty E-107. Will settle for any decent Jackson card but still too pricey for me. Have found a way to acquire some decent J Jax items, 1910 notebook with an outstanding image and recently a 1927 Jackson photo in the RMY auction.

I crossed off my BIG whale this year. I collected many Mantle cards for several years and i finally found one and took full advantage.

Now that it has been crossed off...My only focus is to look at post-war Rc's and touching some vinatge pre-war cards.
