These are backs that have always puzzled me. On the average scenario, which one has the most value? If you look at Scot's revised multipliers, the AB 350 frame has more value. If you look at most scarcity lists, however, the AB 350 with no frame ranks considerably higher. Are they both about the same?

Ab 350 no frame is much much tougher than 350 frame...and should be much more valuable.

There are 190 different confirmed T206 subjects with the AB 350 (frame) back....while there are only 37 different confirmed
T206 subjects with the AB 350 (no frame) back.

My experience collecting these two AB backs indicates that the No-Frame version is tougher to find than the Frame version.

I agree. My experience is that no-frame ABs are tougher to find and bring more of a premium at auction.

Is it scarcer, though, only because there are 80% fewer subjects known with the back?

Put differently, are subjects with frame more common at the individual player level than subjects without frame? For example, Doolan Batting is confirmed with AB 350 frame, and Titus is confirmed AB 350 no frame....are there more Doolan Batting AB 350s than Titus AB 350s? (in general across the AB 350 population, not specifically for those two examples I offered)

Sorry, but you have them reversed. Titus was printed with AB 350 (frame) & Doolan (bat) was printed with AB 350 (no frame).

Anyhow, I have seen more Titus AB frame cards than Doolan AB No frame cards. The No frame AB cards are definitely tougher.

And, that goes double for the AB 460 cards (of which there are 75 confirmed).

No frame is much tougher than frame, although the market multiplier difference is not that great. Perhaps this is because the frame/no frame difference is not that stark and (as was mentioned earlier) no frame is not that much tougher than frame on a "per subject" basis.

I have precise %s on this but can't get to my data right now (Boulder floods).

Maybe tomorrow.

I noticed your parenthetical reference to the boulder floods and wanted to wish
you the best with this most traumatic weather aberration.

From my experience, the no frame is much tougher.

all the best,
barry
