Card/Auto show in Dubuque Sat Sep 14th

Hi everyone,

There is a card and autograph show tomorrow, Sep 14th, in Dubuque, IA. The show starts at 11 and runs until 8pm. 50-60 tables are sold with around 20-25 dealers. $8 admission fee.

Autograph signers include Paul Molitor, Ozzie Smith, Reggie Jackson, Pete Rose, Rod Carew, Wade Boggs, and Johhny Bench, plus some others.

The show is outside the Mystique Casino down by the waterfront.

Hope to see you there. I will be set up, but I'm bringing all newer stuff and leaving the vintage at home for this show. There will be several dealers who have vintage cards.

They are also playing in a softball game at "The Field of Dreams" in Dyersville today.

but it would sure be nice if a promoter did not schedule a card show on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year on the Jewish Calendar

Hi Rich, I'm sure the promoters didn't give it a thought. I just did a google search for religions in Dubuque County, and out of a total population of nearly 70,000, only 90 people are listed as belonging to the Jewish faith.

I'm not one of the organizers of the show, but I sincerely apologize if you or anyone else is offended.

Just wanted to make a point that all people should be cognizant of important holidays to people of other faiths (especially in the Mid West).

Shoot, someone in NY City, where there is a substansial Jewish population did not give a second thouight (they have a 2nd Saturday of the month show) and set one up in Manhattan on that date.

BTW --I've begun working on your box --- should be about 3-4 more weeks now.
