Anyone else collect these?

It amazes me is that the pattern on these two balls is almost exactly the same. The top one is the '56 Yankees ball I recently won from Legendary.

The bottom one has led an even harsher life. My grandfather got it at a minor league game back in the early '40s and had it autographed. My Mother later spilled a container of black ink and the ball ended up having the signed panel completely obliterated. About ten years ago a dog that I was house-sitting somehow got the ball out of my display case and ripped off part of the panel

It must have been the same dog.

Ball survived 125 years until . . . .

Frank, if anyone in Net54 had dog-chewed balls, other than me, my guess is that it would be you.

But apparently it's runscott 2, rest of Net54 0. I realize that that makes me really weird, but just add it to the list.

Scott

Our first Aussie would collect baseballs on our morning walks around the various diamonds in the neighbourhood. Unfortunately, she passed away without any exemplars of her chew marks, so authenticating the balls as being chewed by her is not possible. She did manage to chew on a Bob Brown Obak card, though.

Phil, that is sick. I hope that isn't a ball you bought in decent condition.

Max, that's a great tribute card. My dog is almost 14, and her breed (Rhodesian Ridgeback) never lasts that long. She's still looking good so hopefully I won't be designing a tribute card anytime soon.
