Hello all. I'm new to the board. Thanks for allowing me to participate. I started a thread in the "Wanted" section, but also thought I should say "hello" here (since this is the "introduction" section...:)....). Anyway, for those of you who may not ever look in the "Wanted" section, I'm looking for a 1957 George Witt Baseball Card. This is his minor league card from when he played with the Hollywood Stars. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, and hopefully I'll be able to learn and participate in this forum in the future.

I am not familiar with his 1957 minor league card. Do you know what set it is in, the producer/manufacturer. There is what purports to be an AP Wire 1957 photo of Witt and some other Pirates on ebay now. His Topps cards run from 1959 to 1962

Hi Al. I guess it would be considered a "stand alone" set. It was issued by the team and/or the Pirates organization.

You ARE obviously new around here, D.P. It's common knowledge that the inmates run this asylum.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were out on parole...:)....BTW...I realize this is the "pre-war" section, and my question pertains to a "post-war" card, is there a more appropriate section for me to ask this question in???

If you look at the icons across the top of every page, you will see the fourth one from the left says Postwar Cards and Watercooler talk. There are sections there for all years of cards, including post war and newer ones. Good luck....

Let me offer a warm welcome to a new member who was considerate enough to ask if there is a proper section to post about post-war cards. That is very rare indeed.:)

Thanks again folks...I like to have a good time, and avoid any "drama" whenever possible...I'm too old for that...:)....BTW...I did another "google" search tonight looking for that card, and lo and beyond I got a "hit" from a place called "fritschcards.com"...Has anyone used that place before??? Good??? Bad???
