Ok. Since this listing has only been up for 7 hours and is already at $203, I'm very interested to see how far it will go. To make a game of it, guess the hammer price. The closest at the end will get 4 decent '56 Topps cards from me. Tie goes to the first who posted it. If for some reason Ebay goes back on their word and shuts it down, I'll give them to the person closest at that time.

My guess is $771

Conor, jut a fyi, it's being discussed here:

http://net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=174120

But I will guess $615.00.

The whole "it was determined.. it could possibly be real and we can list as so." Line will keep it down. Only those who are oblivious, and don't read the wall of text below, will bid on it.

Slight rule change: I will allow one reguess but ALL guesses must be made by 24 hours before the auction end to prevent snipe-guessing.

I can't believe it's already at $1200. Maybe I should buy that case of 9000 and leave them outside for a Seattle winter.

I'll guess someone out there is dumb enough to go $1750, so that's my guess.

Betting it'll get pulled.

Once the info comes out to Ebay that it's based on the 4a Wagner (from the other thread) it'll be pulled in a second.

I don't think it'll last much longer. Maybe a couple more bids. I'll go with lucky $1313.13.

"Selling as-is no returns because of card switching". Really? $1425

My prediction is eBay will cancel the auction early. eBay did not look at the scan and say the card "looked authentic" and eBay rules do not say the seller has to call it a reprint even if it's real. That's BS. In the same auction description the seller claims eBay both says the seller can list the card as authentic and that he has to list it as a reprint. He also says the card is a rookie card, then later not a rookie card (because it doesn't have a Topps logo in it!!!). I've seen Laurel and Hardy skits with more logical consistency.

I think reasoning must be if you include diametrically opposing claims in the same auction listing, that counts as a disclaimer.

$1500

If there was any chance that this was the real thing, don't you think it would have made sense to have it graded?

Maybe they would switch it for a real one. They were dumb enough to bid on this one.

A pretty nice fake. We've seen a few this year on eBay. One sold for about $660.00 from a seller from Serbia of all places. Another one from somewhere in Asia that had a BIN of $1500.00. This one is closing in on $1200.00!!!

Hey at least the shipping is free! :D

Impossible to get my head around this:

This piece of crap sells for $1,225 (or more)...and a T206 Brown Old Mill sells for $51.50.

conor912

Well, the good news is that this piece of crap got shut down early. The bad news is that I have no idea what the bidding was at when they did. Can anyone help me out in declaring a winner?

Sean

The real winners are the dummies who bid on this card before it was shut down....but I know that's not what you meant.

The last bid that I saw was $1225.

Ha. Agreed.

I thought I saw it hit $1300 but either way I'm giving it to Darwinbulldog both for the accurate shut down prediction and price guess. Pm me to claim your prize!
